Developing Inclusive Learning and Teaching for Disabled Students: The Importance of Staff Training and Continuing Professional Development

Alan Hurst

After an introduction which describes the context, participants will be involved actively in working on tasks and exercise, used successfully in universities in the UK and in other countries. The session is based on the use of principles associated with effective learning – interest, relevance, novelty, variety and enjoyment (learning can be fun!). All participants will have copies of the tasks which they can use and adapt for use in their own work situation.
