POLULLA Project

Diaconia University of Applied Sciences (DIAK) / Helsinki Unit and Laurea University of Applied Sciences / Tikkurila Unit

Project aim

The aim of the POLULLA project was to build practise models to overcome obstacles and difficulties. Development actions were focused on study counselling and support at studies, student care and arranging for psychosocial support.

The target group consisted of health care, social services and cultural studies students of Diaconia University of Applied Sciences, Diak South and Vantaa Institute of Laurea University of Applied Sciences. Multidisciplinary networks were put to use in the project: the Finnish higher education institutions as a community as well as e.g. municipal social and health care services are needed to develop better practises.

The aim of the project was to prevent significant delay in studies or dropping out by developing counselling and support services for those polytechnic students who need special support with their studies.

The POLULLA project created a general view of the kind of counselling needed by the students who met with difficulties. The project also produced teaching and counselling material for so called general studies.
