Supporting learning readiness and diverse learners

Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences (MAMK)

The main objective of the project is to develop and offer the students and the staff multidisciplinary practice methods and models for comprehensive student support and counselling.

Steps:

  • Analyzing existing tried and tested multidisciplinary support and counselling models that take into account the change in the student's life situation.
  • Developing multidisciplinary support and counselling models and making them a part of student counselling system that can be relied on throughout one's studentship at MAMK.
  • Designing and piloting new forms of support for the students.
  • Designing and piloting training to improve the staff's readiness to support diverse students in diverse life situations.


As the result of this project, the students and the staff will collaborate even better than before on issues regarding accessible learning. Training will help to develop and strengthen the staff's readiness to recognize and address the obstacles on accessible learning, and awareness of issues concerning accessible learning will increase throughout the entire organization.
