HUMAK University of Applied Sciences Unit of Sign Language Studies

Interpreting services remove obstacles on study progress for those higher education institution students who are deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, multi-sensory impaired or who have special linguistic difficulties. The aim of this project is to study and develop the use of interpreting services to remove communicative obstacles faced in studies.

The project aims

  • to study and develop interpretation methods (sign language interpreting, sign-assisted communication, speech-to-text reporting, etc.) and different interpreting service models
  • to develop an interpreting service system and the working life of the interpreters connected to educational interpreting
  • to produce professional services related to the field and create partnership networks
