“Ehyt” project (“Intact”)

The Finnish Federation of the Hard of Hearing (FFHOH)

The project (2007-2010) aims to develop the working conditions and requirements for the hard of hearing and to prevent exclusion from working life. According to a Danish study (*), the hearing impaired have more negative experience with social working environment than other employees. People with functional hearing problems also feel more lonely than the others. The Finnish Federation of the Hard of Hearing also sees that as potential employees, the hard of hearing are not equal with other people of working age, and that employers do not often know enough about the hearing matters.

Project aims

  • to offer employers and employees information about the working conditions and requirements of the hard of hearing
  • to develop a method model that can be used in guidance on accessibility in working life
